Overview of Pediatric Occupational Therapy:

Occupational therapy is focused on improving the child’s ability to participate in daily life, occupations, activities and routines.  These include self-care routines, such as dressing, eating and grooming skills. Development of skill performance is a primary focus, so children can more successfully engage in play, home routines, school activities, and meet parent and teacher expectations. Childhood occupations and abilities are developed, so that the child can engage with increased confidence and competence reaching their potential.  A holistic, integrative approach is utilized to address the child skills, task and environment demands, and how to increase function for success with home and school routines and skills.

Stacey's expertise in sensory integration was exactly what my child needed.  His sensitivities were interfering with his ability to interact with us and completing things.  He was very reactive.  She guided us with strategies to help him become regulated.  His school performance improved, and our family life has improved.

My son was having handwriting struggles, and we were at a loss of how to help him learn how to write.  Stacey provided an intensive handwriting program and sessions that significantly helped improve my son's handwriting skills.  His teachers and I were quite impressed with the changes and so was my son. He can now read what he writes and so can I.
